Brenda Russell, based in Portland, Oregon (USA), is fulfilling her childhood dream as a professional dancer and instructor. Brenda’s early dance training included about 30 dance styles and she has studied musical history and theory, dance history, dance instruction and the physical aspect of dancing, adding to her knowledge of the body, dance, music, and teaching. Brenda continues to study and train with coaches, historians, and practitioners, always striving to increase her understanding and ability.

Brenda has put tons of energy into Lindy Hop, Balboa, Blues, West Coast Swing, and Salsa communities and believes we are all born with dance in our bodies, and that each of us can use this activity as a means for personal expression, connecting with others, and exercise. Brenda loves the image of being able to dance anytime, anywhere, to any music, alone, or with anyone. She spends her time living this dream for herself while assisting her students in accomplishing their personal dance goals.

Ursula has finished her professional dance-education in July 2002. She has been teaching in Switzerland but also on a international level since several years, mainly Lindy Hop and Tap, as well as stretching and body-control. She will give all the Ladies an excellent example and a lot of new and fresh inspiration in Lindy Hop. She grew up surrounded by music and rhythm by her mother being a professional jazz musician. Maybe that explains her ease in playing around with rhythms as well as her passion today for Music and Dance

Dave is part of the very active, creative and inspiring Lindy Hop scene in San Francisco. Dave is dancing and teaching Lindy Hop and Blues since more the 10 years, mainly in the US but more and more also all over europe. He is inspiring people with his energetic style and his extraordinary musicality.

Dave & Ursula have meet in 1998 at Herräng dance camp in Sweden. Ever since then, they enjoyed dancing together. Their endless energy, their crazyness, their enormous joy in dancing and their musicality catched many peoples eyes in Herräng! After the positive feedback from many dancers they have decided to start teaching together and called their style dave-ursi-style.

1. Class: The "Hidden" Closed Connection Position
Learn about a very simple "secret" connection most advanced leads and follows use - but don't even think about. This technique will enhance your connection and open up a new world of opportunities for cool moves.

2. Class: Small Dips & Tricks
This class will stress the actual lead and follow for some basic lifts, drops or tricks. You'll leave with a better understanding of how to create moves displacing your partners' weight. You'll also increase the connection between you and your partner on the regular social dance floor. This is a rotating class so you don't need a partner.

Class: 101 Styles of Connection Those of you that have already danced a lot with partners from other dance scenes will know that there are many ways to lead and follow. Dancing Relaxed or with Tension, Using Body Leads or Arm Leads, In Counterbalance or Not, these are just some of the things that start to change the style of your dance. In this class you will learn to understand when to use some of these different techniques, how to switch between them, and also how to react to a partner who is dancing with a specific technique. 2. Class: Improvising with your partner Learn how to use jazz steps to improvise on the social dance floor. This class will also include information on how to learn new moves/movements faster than the average dancer. If you are a shy, timid, or conservative dancer, this class will start to break you out of your shell so smoothly you won't even notice it.

Class: Warehouse Blues There are many different styles of blues dancing today but the resurgence of blues dancing at house parties in America has highlighted the importance of lead/follow. From isolating and leading any single part of the body to combining those leads to dance to multiple parts of the music at the same time, students will learn the subtleties that only the partner they are dancing with will notice. This will help your Lindy Hop and other dance skills too! 4. Class: Making Your Night Out Dancing Amazing Sometimes you go out dancing and the energy in the room is amazing! Other nights at the same venue, with the same people, and the same music, sometimes it is just NOT amazing at all. This class will teach you the things that can make your night (and many other people's nights) change from not so great to "Remember the time when we..., Wow, that was one heck of a night!"

Viele möchten einmal in die verschiedenen Swingtänze reinschnuppern um dann vielleicht den Lindy Hop gleich mal ganz intensiv ausprobieren. Hier habt Ihr Samstag beim Tag der offenen Tür von 11-18 Uhr die Gelegenheit nicht nur z.B. in Lindyhop, Boogie, Westcoast, 20's Charleston und Burlesque (die Kunst der tänzerischen Verführung) reinzuschnuppern sondern auch Zumba - den heißen neuen Latin-Fitnesstanz, Salsa, u.v.m. auszuprobieren für jeweils ca. 1 Stunde.
Wenn Euch der Lindy Hop dann gepackt hat, könnt Ihr gleich in einem 5 Stunden Intensivkurs am Sonntag (10.00-15.00 Uhr) oder natürlich auch in den regulären Kursen (siehe Kursprogramm) durchstarten. Unser Kursprogramm 2011 startet ab dem 6. Januar.

SwingTalk und der klassische andere Tanz der Swing Ära: Foxtrott: Es ist mal wieder so weit und wir freuen uns auf einen ganz supertollen Specialguest: DJ Wuthe aus Berlin, er legt nicht nur seit 1995 !!!! mit Schellackplatten auf, sondern ist auch ein wandelndes Story Book der Swing Ära. Er hat noch persönlich mit vielen Größen der Zeit gesprochen und viele liebenswürdige, spannende, lustige und dramatische Geschichten zu erzählen. Und so laden wir ihn am Sonntag, 1. Swing and the City in Kooperation mit Munich-Boogie-Kidz:

An alle Jungs und Mädls von 6-16 Jahren: Macht mit bei der erlebnisreichen, lustigen und lehrreichen Tanzparty mit Boogie, Swing, viel Spaß und guter Laune. 13.00-17.00 Uhr, Cats’ Corner, Dachauerstraße 36-38 (Innenhof), bitte voranmelden unter: Christine von Scheidt 0172-6756376

Viele möchten einmal in die verschiedenen Swingtänze reinschnuppern um dann vielleicht den Lindy Hop gleich mal ganz intensiv ausprobieren. Hier habt Ihr Samstag beim Tag der offenen Tür von 11-18 Uhr die Gelegenheit nicht nur z.B. in Lindyhop, Boogie, Westcoast, 20's Charleston und Burlesque (die Kunst der tänzerischen Verführung) reinzuschnuppern sondern auch Zumba - den heißen neuen Latin-Fitnesstanz, u.v.m. auszuprobieren für jeweils ca. 1 Stunde.
Wenn Euch der Lindy Hop dann gepackt hat, könnt Ihr gleich in einem 5 Stunden Intensivkurs am Sonntag (10.00-15.00 Uhr) oder natürlich auch in den regulären Kursen (siehe Kursprogramm) durchstarten. Unser Kursprogramm 2012 startet ab dem 8. Januar.
Die Probestunden beim Tag der offenen Tür sind kostenlos.
